I could go on and on about how amazing she is and about all the awards and things she's won (and about how a certain someone from this mailing list is travelling a wee distance just to attend this show ;) but, instead, I'll just remind you that Richard sang some back-up on Lori's new CD and, for more info, you can visit http://www.lorimckenna.com. That said, there are just a few tickets left for this intimate show (just Lori & her guitar in my living room) so please contact me at this e-mail address (kerry@younghunter.com) ASAP if you're interested in attending. Tickets are $20 with all proceeds going directly to Lori (who, as you may already know, is pregnant with child #4 so we're supporting families here! ;). There will be plenty of snacks and beverages and you will also get to see the excitement of my 11 year old brother (who is a *huge* Lori fan), as this show is my birthday present to him this year. :) In your e-mail, let me know how many tickets you need and also, please also include a phone number where you can be reached. Hope to see some of you next week! "If I Wrote You" -- is definitely a contender for best shiver Richard harmonies. #2 "Guinevere" --Lucy's Robin Batteau cover on her first album, "The Tide". When he comes in on the chorus @ ".....In my castle in Normandy". I need to, ah, change an article of clothing. (Parenthetically this song is probably my favorite cover by Lucy, too....) And the #1 Richard BEST harmony vocals are.............. With Richard Shindell on "Blue Divide". Richard backing up Richard -- it doesn't get much better than that. The last few moments of that song transport me to another plane....... ..........CaroL ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Jun 2001 09:04:24 EDT From: Loracevoll@aol.com Subject: [RS] Gorka Cover Speaking of Richard and covers....a thought just occuried to me -- won't it be nice if Richard covered one of John Gorka's tunes?? I *think* "Love is Our Cross to Bear" would probably get my vote. Pity that the only time they've recorded together is on "By Now". Speaking of Gorka, does anyone have his new album? What do you think? I'll have to admit that it took me more than a couple of listens to get into it, but once I did I loved it! I know some fans don't care for the "happy" Gorka now, but to see him in concert lately is wonderful. He's really having fun and seems to be happy and enjoying himself.
