It is a beautiful and painful song for me. I realized this morning, however, that it is at the precise moment where Richard's harmony kicks in that my heart collapses in a heap. There is something so poignant about his voice on this song. It is quite, distant, almost a whisper - he conveys so much in such a small voice. Amazing. Anyone else affected as strongly by Richard's contribution to this or other non-Richard songs? E Who somedays is reminded why she joined this list! ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number Voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2001 16:48:54 -0400 From: "Brian Williamson" Subject: Re: [RS] Richard Moment I find his contribution to Lori McKenna's "Never Die Young" to be similar. The man really has a great power to convey emotion even just singing background harmony. I also had the pleasure of experiencing this in person when he sang "You Don't Love Me Anymore" with Lynn Miles. Pretty impressive stuff. brian. - ----- Original Message ----- From: Elwestrand To: richardites Sent: Friday, June 15, 2001 3:36 PM Subject: [RS] Richard Moment > I was listening to Dar's EOTS this morning and my favorite song > on it is "If I Wrote You." They also love 'capture the flag', which they play in the NYC blacktop playground, as opposed to my nighttime fields & forests camp experiences of the same game. I think mine was more dramatic, theirs seems more an opportunity to play out the tensions of the school day. Not only are Richard and Lori two of my very favorite singers, but I think he adds so much to that song. It's beautiful without him; it absolutely ACHES with him. As for nominations for Richard in a supporting role... How about on Lucy's rendition of "Mary and her Soldier"?
