Is it a coincidence that this is posted the day after Katrin temporarily departs the list to chase Ellis Paul around a goodly portion of the USA?! :-) Gone from danger indeed! Dave. Well Dave, since I am the other huge Joan fan on here I will come leaping to her defense since Katrin in shamelessly chasing Ellis Paul around, the hussy (actually I am jealous as hell as I can maybe afford a subway ride downtown right now , provided that I walk back). I really love Joan's take on RH. I think she captures the poignancy and pathos of that song incredibly well. And thank you all for the suggestions. Actually a "singers on painters/artists" mix would be really cool. I was thinking of the "Mark Rothko Song" myself. And DM's Vincent. And Luka Bloom's "Gone to Pablo." But also my very very favorite Janis Ian song: "Hopper Painting," which doesn't mention Hopper or a painting, but has the same kind of ache that his paintings do. Keep them suggestions coming. I have 90 minutes to fill!
