Please don't ocnsider yourself too old. After a(n early) lifetime of wanting to play guitar I finally got serious at about age 40. Bought a decent instrument (in the $300 range) and took lessons for about 9 months. It's everything I had hoped for. I truly love music. I'm not nearly as good a player as I would like to be, but I can play along with others and we make music together. Age is not an excuse. If you want it, go for it. You won't be sorry. The one thing that we "johnny-come-lately"'s truly do miss, though, is the _time_ that you have at a younger age to just sit in your room and play until your fingers bleed. I wish I had started earlier, but the ability to make music now is something I am glad for. Also despite all the conversations you see here about alternate tunings, etc., you can play many respectable songs only knowing three chords(CGD) ! Add a fourth chord (A) and you can play Neil Young's entire portfolio! Anyway, don't give up hope just because of age. Think about playing. brian. - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Friday, March 02, 2001 6:52 PM Subject: [RS] Re: For Brian > Hi Brian...No I get offended by very little actually. LOL. That is, if we can ever figure out what a "folk" song is. RG ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V3 #72 **********************************
