It was a wonderful evening, my sister Fran and I had a great time, and I can't add much else except to say how nice it was to finally hear James Keeleghan. I loved his Cold Missouri Waters, with Shenandoah tacked on the end. Does anyone know if this is the way he recorded it? Anyway, I will now always be a fan of his because any guy who confesses to be turned on by barrel racing girls *and* writes a song about it is okay in my book. My 4-H days are long behind me, but Number 37 brought back fond memories. Lucy & Richard...a great double bill. Could someone identify the two other stringed instruments which Richard used? I think he called the one a copy of a Puerto Rican instrument and the other looked like a mandolin on steroids...a mandocello perhaps? Inquiring minds want to know. All were so gracious afterwards. It was a long evening, and they were kind to stay and sign and chat. It was also nice to see Ron G, Gene and Isabel, and Sharong. On another note, it was very cool to see Pat's photo of Richard at Falcon Ridge (sporting that new 'do) in a C Fox ad (p. 70, Acoustic Guitar magazine, 3/01). Pat, I don't know, but my copy of Jame's "Cool Missouri Waters" HAS the Shenadoah melody at the end. Hey Everybody - I just spoke with the Paradise in Boston, and RS' March 15th show at the Paradise is not sold out. So I tried to order tickets through www.nextticketing.com, and I got all the way to the screen where you have to hit the "confirm sale" or the "cancel order" button without any problems. So I bailed. I don't know what happened with Tina's attempt, but it seems to be ok now. If Tina or anyone else tries again to get tickets and has trouble - let me know and I'll go all the way next time and buy a pair of tickets myself! (Or maybe even talk to a person to have it straightened out.) It may just have been a bad technology day. The people at the Paradise are pretty useless and when I went through the NextTicketing online process it came back with an error that the seat category I chose (of which there was only one choice) was sold out! I don't think the show could possibly be sold out yet since the Paradise doesn't even seem to know it exists! Anybody?
