A lower admission price helps bring in people who aren't familiar with the music and perhaps creates new, faithful fans who will attend future shows as well as purchase.......<< Sounds like the sentiments I exressed earlier! After all, isn't the goal to charge the price which will sell all the seats, give a great performance and make new fans? In folk, that usually means keeping ticket prices low enough to attract the curious. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jan 2001 17:23:51 -0700 From: Jessica Byers Subject: [RS] Re: Why, Pat! hi richard listers. i am finally on this list so i just have to say to everyone and thank a few people for telling me how great this list is. sally green, rebecca lay. hi. :) << Ron Schrier (Patty Larkin's live sound guy) and Ben Wisch (who mixed PATERSON), who last teamed up on Patty's A GOGO, her live album of last year. I _believe_ RS's plan is to have the album be predominately RS, with just a few songs w/the band. We'll see.>> I sure hope that this record doesn't come off as flat as Patty's!! (with *Lucy* lead), "Tune for Nowhere" (w/ Lucy) RU: "Next Best Western", "Reunion Hill" (slow), Maaaaaaaaay! SNP: "Confession" (acoustic), "You Stay Here", "Calling the Moon" Cry3: "Cold Missouri Waters" (I was at the Fez show; I like James' version but Richard's is much better). And she didn't look nearly as nervous as she did on Conan last night. >> Agreed! That was a fantastic show and I'd like to see Richard do ACL. It must be harder to do a program like Conan where you get just one shot at one song than a program like ACL. The artist gets a chance to get comfortable and even banter with the audience. Plus, as I recall from the posts on Dar-list, Dar performed something like eight songs at ACL and they edited it from there & they had her do "After All" twice.
