SNP is the number 1 CD of 2000 on Boston's excellent folk station WUMB. They will be playing a Shindell song every hour on the half hour. The first I heard was 'My Love will Follow You' at 9:30. The station can be heard on-line at www.wumb.org. Speaking of radio, WFUV has announced that they intend to make their morning program more 'talk and features' oriented, they are moving Darren DeVivo from morning drive into Rita Houston's old 10 AM - 2 PM slot, and that they have relegated World Cafe to 1 AM. These changes begin on January 22. While this may not concern those outside the NY area, I have definitely noticed a slow shift toward the center over the last year, starting when Meg Griffin left and was replaced by longtime classic rock DJ Dennis Elsas. I'm afraid they are trying to expand their audience, and they don't feel that the excellent programming they already had will be accepted by the general public. And, unfortunately, they are probably right. They are playing calling the moon right now, sometime before that I heard waiting for the storm, another one but I forgot which one (sorry). Oh, and Kerry, Chris Smither made the top ten, too, did you see that? well, I am happy now, Katrin ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V3 #8 *********************************
