We always stay at a hotel in Center City, (19th and Market) near the Bookbinders on 15th. As far as Bookbinders being kind of touristy, I would agree to a point, but at least it's Philadelphia touristy. I'd rather go there than another one of the 53,000 Bennigans or Ruby Tuesdays that pop up everywhere. Besides, these are the sort of places that give a city their character. A major part of living in a fairly large city is the perverse pleasure you derive from never going to anyplace in your own city that might be inhabited by filthy, swarming tourists. I've walked past the Empire State Building dozens of times, but I've never been to the top, and I've been to the Liberty Bell as often as the Statue of Liberty. Gene F. (who, every summer, becomes a filthy tourist, but avoids swarming at all costs) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Oct 2000 10:40:16 EDT From: SMOKEY596@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] Forest fire picture in Montana Sue, that IS amazing! Thanks for sharing it with us! It's too bad that it cannot be used commercially. I think it would definitely win some sort of award. Amazing.
