BTW, has anyone seen or heard any remarks from Richard about this song? Is there a Wisteria moment in his life that he drew upon for this song? As for me, I spent the first 15 years of my life in one house, in Queens, half a block south of Hillside Av. near 188th Street. In the driveway on the side facing our neighbors to the south grew some sort of ivy. That's what I think of when I hear Wisteria. When he played in Centerport in February he mentioned that it was about the house in Port Washington that he lived in while growing up. I've heard him do an intro this song on a number of occasions in which he says it's about a house he once lived in out on Long Island, in Port Washington, if I recall correctly. He often says that what was done to the house by its subsequent owners is proof positive that, and I quote, "People who have lots of money should not always be allowed to spend it." He goes on to say that he also visited the "archetypal" pizza place (Frank's Pizza, again, if memory serves) near where he lived, and was pleased to find that it was now being run by the same family who'd owned it "back then," and that the pizza was as good as he remembered it. My husband and I lived with her during the first two years of our marriage. We were married around Christmas time, so we bought this little Christmas tree for five bucks and planted it the next spring. That tree grew so beautifully that I never expected anyone in their right mind to cut it down. But that was the first thing to go by the new owners. I felt that tree represented our marriage, growing stronger each year. It made me incredibly sad to drive by the house and see it gone.
