It was a thrill for me to see them on stage together at the sunday moring Falcon Ridge workshop last week. I think RS and DC could trade truck driving songs for hours! To respond to Arthur's request for a live D&T album, it's not likely anytime soon. One of the remarkable things about Dave Carter (and unlike RS) is that he is an incredibly prolific writer. When we were choosing songs for Tanglewood Tree, there were over a dozen good to great songs that didn't make the album and another 20 or more that they never palyed for me!!! Dave continues to crank them out at an amazing pace, with at least another dozen songs written this year. D&T will be recording a new album starting in December with a release planned for late spring 2001. Dave keeps talking about a DOUBLE album, but I don't think it's likely. BTW, for those of you in New England, Richard and his band will be warming up for Newport with a show at the Iron Horse in Northampron this Saturday (8/5). Tickets are still available, and it should be amazing. Feel free to ignore the personal shots, and It'll be obvious that the focus of the folks taking these pictures is Don Conoscenti and Ellis Paul. Dave and Tracy were one of my favorite acts, and I can't believe I didn't get a photo of them! www.drilldesigner.com/photoalbum/ Bill ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Jul 2000 10:33:25 -0400 From: "Brian Williamson" Subject: Re: [RS] Dave & Tracy news Is it possible to order the first Dave & Tracy album "When I Go" online throught signature sounds? brian. - ----- Original Message ----- From: Jim Olsen To: Sent: Monday, July 31, 2000 9:55 AM Subject: [RS] Dave & Tracy news > It's great to see so many of you Richard-listers digging Dave Carter & Tracy > Grammer. Johnson" Subject: [RS] Richard Shindell I was wondering whether anyone on this "Dave and Tracy" list has heard of Richard Shindell? His new CD, SOMEWHERE NEAR PATERSON, is absolutely wonderful. ;-) Seriously, who's going to the Iron Horse on Friday? I am. And just who is opening for Richard? His new CD, SOMEWHERE NEAR PATERSON, is absolutely >wonderful. ;-) Yes, indeed. SNP is certainly a fine example of Richard's overwhelming talent and steller ability to produce material that only gets better and better. In regards to the previous inquiry I can only offer an answer that should relieve any questions as it seemingly appears on this list quite often. I feel certain that if you "check the archives," you just might discover that this "Richard Shindell" fellow has in fact been discussed before. If memory serves, I believe the very topic was brought up last Febuary; perhaps something about analyzing the meaning behind a song called "Beyond the Iron Gate"? *shrug* In any case, Dave and Tracey demonstrated extraordinary talent themselves and are well-deserving of the praise and constructive criticism delivered via this list. While The "Richard Shindell list" is obviously devoted to discussing the merrit, music, and other aspects of Richard Shindell himself, I should think it might appear rather narrow-minded of us to scorn those who wish to comment on a particular aartist other than Richard, who apparently have gathered a collective interest. Sure would be difficult to discuss how spectacular "Cry Cry Cry" was/is without including Dar and Lucy in the dialog, wouldn't it? Like most things, the Dave and Tracey thread will eventually fizzle out and it'll be back to our regularly scheduled Richard focus. - -- Jenny Dodd Dallas, Tx. kc5gni@techwearz.com *I'm the kid who has this habit of dreaming, Sometimes gets me in trouble too.
