Hey everyone! In a recent thread someone mentioned about a possible recording of the Richard show at the Bottom Line in April and I was wondering if anyone can confirm if there is indeed such a tape. I would love to purchase a copy if it's available. If someone has some information I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!! I look forward to meeting some of you at Falcon Ridge. Whoever is interested in organizing a group of us listers to meet/hang out, please announce it on the list or write to me directly! I hope to hear from all of you that plan to attend!!! Take care. P.S.- I will be bringing my guitar(no, it's not a Martin or anything fancy, but it sounds pretty good to me) and I hope some of you will bring your musical instruments as well! I learned a few things. Like that the Roman Catholic church admitted recently that she wasn't a prostitute at all. Seems this reputation was created by a 1st century male inferiority complex & reinforced by medieval sexism and misinterpretation of the gospels. I came away with an even more profound belief in the fallibility of the scripture that's available to us today. So how is this topical? I have a deeper appreciation now for Richard's insight into her relationship with Jesus. I almost expected the song to be mentioned. j a c ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2000 17:11:44 -0700 From: patrick t power Subject: Re: [RS] Magdelen again John wrote: <> Not to slight Richard's take on the possible nature of the Jesus / Mary Magdalen relationship, but years ago, I purchased an LP by Jefferson Airplane called "Long John Silver" (well, I'll be damned -- I still have it!!) and the record had a song called "The Son Of Jesus." THE SON OF JESUS (P. Kantner) Copyright 1972 by godtunes Jesus had a son by Mary Magdalene And he rode the land like the man who went before Young Jesus raised him loud, Mother Mary raised him proud And he tracked the men who laid his father down One day the Pilate died with the fire in his side Herod did die too Not the way he wanted to Y'see the child knew the secrets of Egypt & Isis Magdalene remembered when The people smiled and had been looser Looser than they'd been since the day young Jesus died Public execution enhanced by levitation Fancy mutilation for 2000 years of time Jesus could walk on the water The man could dance on the sea of Galilee But don't try breathing the water Miracles go only so far you see So you think young Jesus Christ never a lady And you think young Mary never saw him smile wide & free You won't read it in the bible & if you look you're liable To come across the truth about the man from Galilee She the man upon the water they had a son they had a daughter She hid them from the slaughter in the deep Black Sea God loved the son of Jesus Ol' God got off on the sparklin' daughter too, yes he did Jesus could walk on the water The man could dance on the Sea ofGalilee Watch him dance Watch him dance Watch him dance Dance Dance Pat p.s. The lyrics are verbatim from the record sleeve, so any apparent grammatical errors (such as the line: "So you think young Jesus Christ never a lady") are as published. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2000 18:38:37 -0400 From: "Norman A. As I recall from the discussions we had last year when Mary M was SOTW, some scholars speculated that the wedding where Jesus or [Jess ;-) ] turned the water into wine was really his own (to Mary M).
