Nah, I don't need to look for a fight...but I'll tell you what...if this
attitude prevails and it means I have a better chance of getting a front row
seat the next time Richard comes to town, I can allow, hell, even encourage
Joe's opinion.  "Brand" loyalty at the expense of allowing your self the
chance to experience and enjoy something new seems like a tragedy to me.  It
might not be tragic if all it prevents you from is buying a Ford instead of
a Chevy (or whatever).  But how could someone not be moved by Richard's
story telling?  I gave up beating others over the head a long time ago.  If
they don't get it, I let them be.  But I still share at least once.  I have
observed that music really polarizes some people.

Sorry to spam the lists, but this is really the best way to let everybody know.

I moved!!

I'm now living in Northampton, over near Smith, in a nice place with two 
other people.  This completes a year-long struggle to get past graduation 
and actually get out of my home and hometown.

Does this mean you'll see me at more Iron Horse shows?  Well... no.  My 
work schedule currently has me working evenings and weekends (and 
therefore, weekend evenings), so any good shows are going to be at times 
when I can't be there.  Though, I think I'm going to ask for the day of 
Dar's Calvin show off.  But if I can get my schedule in line soon 
(shouldn't be too much trouble), hopefully.

So, that's it.  Again, sorry to those who couldn't give a darn.

Proof that there's no accounting for taste.  Look, I'll defend to the death 
someone's right to say that a particular artist is not their cup of meat; I 
wouldn't pay to see Peter Mulvey play if he were performing in my backyard, 
nor can I understand the fuss that's made over Ani DiFranco, Susan Werner, 
Ellis Paul and others, not to mention my well-documented intolerance for Joan 
Baez.  But I do not denegrate their particular talents.  

Which is why for that bozo to complain that Richard is a sound-alike 
folk-singer with a second-rate voice and passable guitar skills, well, he's 
simply wrong.  Name me one artist who sounds like Richard.  Listen to 
Richard's live instrumental intro to "Arrowhead" and tell me those are "okay" 
guitar skills.  And to get "pissed off" that Peter opens for Richard?

Joe, baby, you clearly take this waaaaay too seriously.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Speaking of neighborhoods, I think it's probably best not to respond to the
opinions on the Peter Mulvey list. Much as I think those opinions are wrong
(particularly the one about RS being an average story teller-- that's like
saying Mt. Everest is an average mountain), I don't see anything to be
gained from a cross-list war.
