Jean-Jacques, he has actually toured here in 97 when he opened for Joan Baez on her "gone from danger"-tour. I know they played several gigs here in Germany, not sure about France, but knowing how much Joan loves France, I suppose they played there, too. Unfortunately I was out of the country at the time and didn't get to see any of the concerts... really bad timing on my part :-) Katrin > Hi ! > As you know, R Shindell is very very confidential in Europe and it will > probably be a long way. > I live in the far northern outskirts of Paris; I like very much Mulhouse, > mainly because the huge railway Museum. > Jean-Jacques > ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 May 2000 11:23:17 +0200 From: Katrin.Uhl@t-online.de (Katrin Uhl) Subject: [RS] shirts - never go without (no RS-content) > Katrin writes << I like shirts, but hardly ever wear them > outside the house > >> > > Now THAT'S interesting! LOL....I guess things are more liberal > across the > sea?? > > :-) > SMOKEY Errr... let me assure you all that the dress-code in this country actually isn't that liberal after all, not that you get the wrong impression. What of course I was trying to convey in this little message quoted above was, that t-shirts are usually not my clothing of choice for anything less casual than sitting at home or running over to the store real quick. :-) Especially if they have an artist's name in huge letters on them. But then I guess we weren't talking about huge neon-letters saying "I love Richard Shindell" anyway :-) Ah, foreign languages... maybe I should get my English textbooks out of the closet again :-) Katrin, with a big grin on her face ____________________________________________ we come to pass not to stay all that matters anyway is what will follow you Peter Mulvey (all the way home) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 May 2000 12:04:53 +0200 From: "J.J. PIK" Subject: [RS] RS in europe I heard from our co-lister Lisa D. (who is very erudite about this subject) that RS spent some times in Paris several years ago and used to play guitar and and sing in the corridors of our Metro. I'm angry considering that maybe I have passed him at metro République or Concorde. Parisian *metro* is a great concert hall, very good quality of sound indeed. I'm still going to send that tape I promised you. It's just that right now my CDs and tapes and I are in one place and my CD/tape player is in another place and I've been so frazzled the last couple of weeks with moving. When I get settled in, I'll get it out to you. :-) SMOKEY It's a long strange ride, I can't tell you why But there's a place in your pocket where peace can abide You pull it out, it's a compass, a guide And it will put a little soul on you. ---Ellis Paul ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 May 2000 13:11:52 EDT From: Rongrittz@aol.com Subject: [RS] Grammer lesson. << Another couple who do songs that keep you coming back discovering more each time is Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer. And the music is so beautiful that you don't mind coming back a few hundred times 'til you "get" it! >> Oh yes, oh yes. Dave and Tracy's first CD, "When I Go," simply refuses to leave my CD player. Great harmonies, wonderful instrumentation, and terrific stories with characters that should interest most RS fans. And besides, it has the most perfect song I've ever heard, "Kate and the Ghost of Lost Love." Guy/girl singing, guy/girl swapping verses, guitar/violin instrumentation, heartbreaking violin solo, a counter-song tour-de-force crescendo, harmonies to die for . . . like I said, perfect. It's available from Signature Sounds, too. Order it today. RG ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 May 2000 20:33:20 EDT From: TRNMT@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] Grammer lesson. I love this disc, and like Ron, can't get it out of the changer. Uh, Ron, any chance of some chords??? : ) Even my daughter likes it (and she *loves* Kate and the Ghost of Lost Love).
