I hope to hear from more of you. I have heard about the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and the Newport Folk Festival. If anyone knows where and when each of these take place I would be eternally grateful!!! I plan to attend both if possible. If anyone else is planning to go maybe we could all plan to meet and hang out. I would love to meet some of you other "listers". April 1, 2000 The complete list of FRFF 2000 performers has been made available. March 17, 2000 Information and tips on camping at the festival can be found at this URL: http://mit.edu/skkelly/www/frff-bring.html. Click on Shawn Kelly's Camp Dar website (above) to see some seriously devoted fan action organized around the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. There are a bunch of us on all three of the CCC lists (Richard, Dar, Lucy) and this camp will be a good place to meet many of us. Although the entire weekend conflicts with a super folk festival in my own neck of the woods (our ONLY super folk festival, for that matter) that should not prevent you from checking out the New Bedford Summerfest (?) in New Bedford, MA on the weekend of July 8 & 9. It's practically FREE. Richard will be there, I am told, along with a strong roster of great folk musicians. Hope that helps.... Just a note that I received an official notice from my company PC support that the threat is real and that such messages should be deleted without opening them. john alvord ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 May 2000 12:24:13 EDT From: SMOKEY596@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] Bona Fide Virus Warning Add my employer to the list of those affected. :-/ SMOKEY ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 May 2000 13:07:36 -0400 From: Vanessa Wills Subject: [RS] [Fwd: computer virus] This is an e-mail I received from my university. Some of it will be irrelevant to other computer users, but I thought it might still be helpful. This one's for real, folks. - --Vanessa Below is a message from CIT regarding a computer virus. Please do not delete this message until you have read this. Thank you for your attention. ___________________________________________ CIT is concerned with advising undergraduates and graduate students not to open any e-mail attachment that may have arrived under the subject ILOVEYOU. The safest course is to delete any such mail. The Love Letter virus/worm spreads itself by sending itself to those whose e-mail addresses appear in the electronic address book of recipients. It does this only if the attachment is open. The worm spreads extremely rapidly, more so than did the Melissa virus or others of this kind, and has brought mail service to a halt in commercial, financial and other institutions in the US, Europe and Asia already since it was released several hours ago. CIT has installed a filter on the central Princeton University mail server, which is capturing any new examples of mail with the subject line ILOVEYOU. This is helping to prevent the spread of the worm on campus. A side effect, however, is that messages from anyone writing to warn campus members regarding the virus also are being captured and quarantined if the subject line includes the tell-tale ILOVEYOU. Princeton has been fortunate in that the virus/worm was identified swiftly and the protective filter installed. However, to protect others, it is important to delete messages bearing the worm, or at least to not open the attachment. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 May 2000 11:00:47 -0700 (PDT) From: John Alvord Subject: Re: [RS] [Fwd: computer virus] I guess a large percentage of people want to be loved, and want to find out who loves them. john alvord On Thu, 4 May 2000, Vanessa Wills wrote: > This is an e-mail I received from my university.
