And yeah, it's a pretty bad song, but it's so cute--let's call it a guilty pleasure. Richard said it originated from an assignment some friends gave him to write a song listing the various provinces of Spain. He also said he's afraid to put it on an album, because he doesn't want people to think that he actually thinks it's a good song--maybe he can stick a disclaimer on it or something? ;-) Peace, Love, and Mischief, Vanessa np: Steve Hackett, "Watcher of the Skies: Genesis Revisited by Steve Hackett" (a pretty good reworking of some old Genesis prog rock songs by an ex-bandmate) "Dupas, Edward (E.M.)" wrote: > < The Song With The Very Bad Rhyme, what's that?> > > I love that song! A big tip o' the hat to all of you who have donated your services to our "retail angel" program. For those of you who don't recall, a couple of months ago we asked members of this list to help us track the stock levels of Richard Shindell CD's in their local stores. We've had a great response, with 20-30 people sending in monthly reports It's been a huge help to the Signature and Young/Hunter team to have these reports. The ever-wonderful Katie Mahoney has done a terrific job of rounding up the info and putting in a useful graph for us. It's not to late to help.... contact Katie at skyboheme@juno.com In just 2+ months since it's release, SNP has already become Richard's best selling album. Retail orders are over 18,000, with weekly sales of 550-600 copies as reported by soundscan. The album has been a big hit at radio as well, climbing as high as #2 on the AAA charts. We've just released the 2nd single, an edited version of "Spring". Speaking of Spring, in a few days we'll be offering a limited quantity of the radio promo Spring EP's for sale at Signature Sounds web site. In addition to both versions of Spring, it also includes a stunning acoustic band version of "Confession", which RS prefers to the album version! Another treat on the EP is a song called "Shades Of Black" which was cut for SNP, but not included. I'll post to the list as soon as the EP is available. Yes! They have an annual benefit called "the Folk Next Door" that showcases local talent and usually includes one or two names. Thus, I first heard "February" as the last and standout track on The Folk Next Door 3; and I have an old tape of the Folk next Door (1 or 2) with Richard doing "Home Team."
