I actually tried Christine's suggestion, but I had to go with the "lost my arrowhead" verse because I'm a high school teacher and I really believe no public sector employee can be TOO paranoid. Anyway, the sound was too tinny when I tried recording it myself. (I have a flip phone still, which is just one step off from a rotary dial.) I tried some Dylan verizon downloads, but didn't like the choices so I ended up with Blondie "Call Me". I just like the irony. ...Carol ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 Aug 2013 14:54:23 +0100 From: Dave McKay Subject: Re: [RS] ringtones... Does anyone know if anything is > available as a ringtone?? And what song would you pick???? If your phone can use MP3s as ringtones, the world's your oyster! I'm not a fan of actual songs as ringtones, but perhaps the intro to an RS song would work. How about Confession, or Transit? On my phone, I have a special ringtone for my wife which is the spliced intro and coda of Lucy K's Scorpion (we met at one of her concerts). Everyone else gets the theme from North By Northwest! For years my ringtone has been the first 8 seconds of Dar's "Are You Out There." Not only is the name appropriate, but on the phone it actually sounds more like a ringtone than a song intro. I've no idea of availability, as my ancient dumb phone can't do custom ringtones. But for some reason, the intro of A Tune for Nowhere pops into my head frequently, so that's my purely off-the-top-of-my-head pick. Although, it's really too soft & slow to work as a ringtone. But a snippet from one of the instrumental breaks later in the song might work. OK, everyone else please chime in here and make some suggestions that actually make sense ;-) - -Dave in St Paul (Hint to Richard, who will never see this you sure looked like you enjoyed playing at Ginkgo Coffeehouse here a couple of years ago.
