OK, so I'm doing the streaming thing. Lucy just came on with "This is Home" off The Red Thread. New song to me. I'm about 90% sure that RS is doing the chorus harmony with her. (Computer speaker is not clear enough for me to bet the farm...) Does anyone know?? Also, do we know how many cameos RS has made on Lucy albums??? *Sometimes* that makes the whole song for me. Or maybe a list of RS's guest appearances on all artists' albums?? Ron G, this sounds like somewhere your music OCD would be helpful... Laurence, you'll be happy. This definitely did lead to a purchase following a streaming service encounter. ...Carol ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2013 10:53:34 -0400 From: Carol Love Subject: Re: [RS] Using Pandora Janet wrote: still I get James Taylor until I want to scream. Never going to happen because the song EXPLODED after "Shrek". I could never, ever play Leonard Cohen for my students. They would act like their ears are bleeding. Great stuff there, and a few I haven't heard so I will check 'em out. The Current is pretty good, but for the Mpls/St Paul area you should really check out KFAI , a small independent public station. Their tagline is "Radio Without Boundaries" (it used to be, "A different radio station every hour"). Plenty there in the folk/americana vein, plus a LOT more to "expand your musical palette." Can stream on your computer, or on your mobile device with the Public Radio Player iOS app. My favorite is "Womenfolk" hosted by Ellen Stanley, Tuesdays from 2-4 PM Central time. All kinds of great music, interviews & in-studio guests, and she frequently does these amazing theme-based shows that are really great. RS content even though Ellen's show focuses on folk & acoustic music by women, you'll get your Shindell fix there often enough via covers of RS songs. A few weeks back she played Burning Bridget Cleary's version of "On a Sea of Fleur de Lis," it was really lovely. And I know there are plenty of Dave & Tracy / Tracy Grammer fans on this list Ellen & Tracy are good friends, you'll hear plenty of (Dave and) Tracy's music on Ellen's show. - -Dave in St Paul, where we're longing for an RS appearance after more than 2 years... - --------------- On Jul 24, 2013, at 10:07 AM, Pete Jameson wrote: > Friends, > > My brother and I are really at odds on this one. I do like Pandora, I recently found out one of Dar's songs (Summer Child) is on a soundtrack of a movie!
