For those who do not know of Mallett, he is going to be on Concert Window on June 28 at Club Passim. Well worth the five dollars to watch. I do have a funny story about Mallett, as like Shindell, Garnet Rogers, these people are very personable in remembering you. We go to Maine, Acadia National Park for biking and hiking for 2 weeks every October. There was a place in Bluehill ME called the Left Bank. It was a small restaurants with music every night. One year, we went to Maine two times, once in June and then in October. It just so happened that Mallett, was in concert at the Left Bank, and we had a table right in front of him both times. Great. Well now we are back home in Maryland, as Mallett was going to play at the Birchmere in VA. December of that year. We where sitting in the lobby waiting for the doors to open to the tables. Mallet comes walking in through the lobby and see's us. He stops and asks "what are you doing here in VA from Maine?" we said we live in Maryland. He was stunned. We explained that we vacation in Maine every year. http://www.kennedy-center.org/explorer/artists/?entity_id=10072&source_type=B This is a live concert of Mallett, at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC as they have free one hour concerts everyday, 365 days a week. I was in the front row, caused a bit of trouble, as I put my jacket on three chairs, as I was waiting for some friends to come, I left the jacket to go further out. When my friends came, we went to the seats. My jacket was gone! I asked a usher, and she said they took it away as you can not leave things unattended. YIKES, I had no idea. Itbs a great concert. On another note, my wife was on a plane that night going to FL for a meeting. While my little jacket incident occurred, her plane had to land in NC due to man who wanted to stand when you are not suppose to, like on take off. They asked him to sit, and he would not, so hence the emergency landing. When they landed the landing area was full of swat team members and vehicles as no one had a clue what was going on for most of them. Then my wife saw them carry this man off the plane, THEN They hauled off this woman too. Then they where back in the air. The pilot explained and added that the woman started to mouth off at the authorities, which was a no no. Anyway, seeing this lady sing a Mallett song lead me to my Mallett story and my wife's story. Upbeat, well done, if a bit odd hearing it sung by a woman!
