Not the same woman but it was so annoying that I had a hard time enjoying the show. I remember one woman asking me all kinds of personal questions about Richard! I really didn't know the answers but I got so pissed that I made up a bunch of crap, saying he's happily married with 6 kids! Ha, ha that shut her up but not for long. She said she was going to ask him out! Can you believe it? I still shake my head at that. I notice more chatter in the audience at festivals or when more than one performer is playing. People come to see 'their' person and ignore anyone playing before them. We had this experience seeing Red Horse and I had to get rude with a group of people who squeezed in front of us and proceeded to chat loudly while Red Horse was playing. I do remember a fight almost breaking out during a Chris Smither concert where a guy answered his cell and had a loud conversation while Chris was playing! Chris just kept on playing while there was a rather heated exchange going on in the audience. Luckily it didn't come to blows. II had a few discussions with some and I have learned now to get the Usher who we know since we go all the time. And now that is what I will do at folk concerts, make a sence in getting up and disturbing others, which is sad, but I am not going to put up with this behavior anymore at concerts like what I experience last Saturday. We have a classical concert this Saturday with the Baltimore Symphony,, hopefully no problems there. Beethoven was like the Beatles in Symphonic movement on how he changed that format. Ooh, this takes me back to the South Florida Folk Festival in 2000! Some amateur sitting behind us breaks out his guitar and starts, erm, "accompanying" the professional musicians (Carla Ulbrich, Marjorie Richards, Dan Pelletier et al) in our song circle, to the stage where he's drowning out lyrics. When Kris Delmhorst starts playing Weatherman at my request, and this guy starts up again, I lean back and pointedly ask him to stop. I may even have muted his strings with my hand. Anyway, he packs up and goes off in the huff! Job done! Dave. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 6 Mar 2013 6:43:32 -0800 From: Subject: [RS] In Digestion. Apologies, but this morning's Digest got hit by a case of the funkies again, including a handful of random posts from as far back as a couple of weeks ago. I've long since given up on trying to make sense of what's been going on with the Digest, and at this point am just happy that it's showing up at all. As I've mentioned before, you can always sign up for the individual message version, which always comes in order and is, in my opinion, easier to follow. Anyways . . . tomorrow's the deadline for the Elite Eight, and although we've heard from pretty much all of our "regular" voters, there are a couple of pairings that are within just a few votes, so polls are still open.
