Hey All - Been a bit quiet on this front lately... hopefully word of Richard's (or Antje's) new album will pick things back up. If history is an indication though, we'll be waiting awhile in anticipation. Wondering if anyone has checked out Spotify (now that it's available in beta to the US) and how folks feel about it? From a consumer standpoint, it's a pretty amazing tool... albeit, I can't find 30% of what I'm looking for typically so not a replacement clearly, plus I like to own my music, but definitely opens some exploratory doors. All Richard's albums (except Sparrow's Point and Reunion Hill - not sure why those were singled out) are out there, most of Antje's, all of Lucy and Dars', and a number of records I looked up which were recommended by Ron quite awhile ago (I had about a 60% hit on those). I do feel like Spotify is quite a milestone for the music consumer industry. I just hope it doesn't reduce artists' desire to make music or quell the consumer excitement of owning music (digital or otherwise). Thoughts? I love the sharing playlist feature although most of my friends/family's taste in music doesn't match mine - if you're out there on the new beta, I'm @ lkrulik and have shared a number of playlists including "Ron Griggs Recommended". :) See ya, Laurence ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V12 #27 ***********************************
