It gives me hope. I thought it just went to his management! Hopefully we'll see some reports from the west coast soon!Janet - --- On Fri, 11/5/10, Amy Cocuzza wrote:Hi Janet, Congrats on the upcoming nuptials! Just wanted to let you know that I once sent a request (along the lines of "I'm so sorry to be That Fan, but . . . ") to the generic email listed on his website and got a response from the man himself. I don't recall the address he replied from, but that was how I managed. Of course, he ended up not being able to play my request when push came to shove, but I got a shout out and a different song dedicated to me instead, so I walked away happy. :) Cheers, Amy p.s. I'll see him in 2 weeks at the Jammin' Java show. Can hardly wait -- it's been too, too long! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Nov 2010 18:17:46 -0500 From: Carol Love Subject: [RS] Six Degrees of Richard Shindell Take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inc3d2LudEA&feature=player_embedded#! So you say, "What does Keith Richards have to do with Richard Shindell?" Well, Keith spent part of the early 70's paling around with Gram Parsons, who did a version of this song with Emmylou Harris. RS has covered at least two Gram Parsons' songs including an unrecorded duet with Lucy K on this very song. So really there's only one degree of separation from Richard to Keith.... I'd actually love to hear RS cover a Stones ballad. I can even hear Lucy singing backup: "Take me down, little Susie, take me down . . . ." I was thinking "Wild Horses" because it goes back to the Gram Parsons connection. I just recently discovered that iTunes has the Gram Parsons cover of WH. It's good, but it doesn't make me forget Mick or anything. :-) .....Carol On Sun, Nov 7, 2010 at 6:30 PM, Sandy Smith wrote: > Although it would be out of character, I can imagine Richard covering "Dead > Flowers."
