Or has gone to it, and can provide a review? Or is thinking of going to it, and might be interested in splitting the cost of gas? I'm toying with the idea of going, because Richard will be there, but here is the main drawback as I see it: Richard is playing there Sunday, *but there's no telling WHEN*. I am actually staying only an hour away from this Festival at the moment, but it would take some schlepping on my part as I don't have a car. I'm not sure whether it makes sense to try to go, given that Richard's set may only be 45 minutes or so, public transport around here is, well, minimal, and also there is NO PUBLISHED SCHEDULE on the website! (Which also makes me wonder about other organizational aspects of the festival.) On the other hand, the list of performers looks amazing. Heck, I'd love to be able to make it there tonight (Ellis Paul and Peter Mulvey!!). Antje Duvekot and Red Molly, favorites on this list, are playing this weekend as well, along with many more. ::sigh:: - --V - -- "True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. I can't remember where I downloaded it from, but here's a link to the .pdf of the schedule for Saturday and Sunday: http://webpages.charter.net/barrel-of-music/schedule.htm (It was on the Summerfest home page earlier this week. No, I don't see a link to it now. I have no idea where they hid it. Yes, they do rotten web page design, but the festival is really amazingly well organized.) Where are you staying? I'm driving from Providence, with two passengers on Saturday. Possibly three on Sunday, but if not you're welcome to ride with us--or if you can squeeze in; it's a compact car but does have seat belts for five. :) Email me to arrange things if you like. >On the other hand, the list of performers looks amazing. I hope you do go! I'll be away from email from about 3 pm until late this evening but will answer then if you reply. Oh, and while you probably don't know Stephen Fearing, he's another performer whom I love and can recommend highly to any Richard Shindell fan--or Ellis Paul or Peter Mulvey fans, for that matter. We'll be there Saturday and Sunday. It's small and friendly compared to FRFF and you'll definitely get a chance to talk to Richard.
