"Fishing" is a chilling and ominous story, yet resolved by the decision to return to freedom of another life that doesn't betray family and loved ones. But there is the FISHING too!! We take what resonates with us at the moment from a song. I like how his dad just remembers the pleasures of fishing in Canada some years ago with Richard from the song. Lately I've been fishing...ocean and lake. It feels good. It's my husband's most favorite thing to do in the world, and I am just now discovering a way to get hooked on it -- after 20 years of marriage and longer of our friendship and relationship. (I joined a women's fishing club and have since gone out with him.) Our parents and we don't see the same world. My children don't see the same world as I do. Yet here we are together. Thanks for posting Richard's comments from shows. I purchased Mariana's EP this morning from theconneXtion. ($7.99- a deal!) Just listening for the first time right now. Who is Mariana by the way? I confess I don't know Richard's wife's name etc. Is it she? Maybe she's someone from Crecer Con Amor? (I AM.... makes me just think "I AM that I AM" life in every particle.) Hideous Grin....we talked about it. For me it was political at first, and then with repeated listening it was a personal story of old age, dementia and memories...not a home lost to revolution and forced community. It is a bewildered mind and a life dismissed and invaded by others--probably family members and other caregivers. I wonder who the one in the corner is -- himself? Just bought Antje Duvekot's CD too -- though I've yet to see her. Lucky Florida -- you get to see Richard this week!! Lastly, I found a quote on a folk venue's website that I have to add: "All music is folk music. I ain't never heard no horse sing a song." - - LOUIS ARMSTRONG Time to get to work -- no more computer for a while. Happy Sunday! Deana "We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results."
