(The Weather - RS) Hey, All - It's been ages since I last posted - may I please chalk it up to the "life-is-what-happens-to-you-while-you're-busy-making-other-plans" defense?... :-) Wanted to comment on a few things regarding the new CD: ~ *So* glad someone recently mentioned the fountain pen line from Fishing being mirrored in Bye Bye (and the power that it has to take away or bring back) - it struck me the first time I heard the new CD... ~ Speaking of Bye Bye... I loved it at its Falcon Ridge Beatles Workshop debut in July 2007... and it's wonderful to be able to play it whenever I wish now - the produced version even has that trademark Beatles sound and harmonies (when Lucy's vocals kick in)... ~ Like many here, I love Gethsemani Goodbye which, upon listening, my brain kept referencing as Gethsamane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gethsemane) - upon finally reading the liner notes, I noticed the difference in spelling and came up with something completely different (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbey_of_Gethsemani). Now the Louisville part makes sense - duh (although I liked it my way better, because I was reading all sorts of confessional/betrayal emotions into it!)... ~ State of the Union is incredible - "get rid of the junk" indeed... ~ Does anyone else think the melody of One Man's Arkansas is reminiscent of Dave Carter's Farewell to Bitterroot Valley? - I hear it every time (especially premonitory since Richard covers The Mountain two tracks later)... ~ I saved the best for last: Richard will be appearing in a house concert in my friend's backyard (in Sunrise, Florida) on Friday, May 1!!! - RG, doesn't it sound like a good time to come visit your mom?... :-) Susan www.labyrinthcafe.com www.myspace.com/labyrinthcafe www.browardfolkclub.com www.southfloridafolkfest.com www.gotfolk.com "god bless the sound of music god bless the golden rule..." ~ Danny Schmidt ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V10 #72 ***********************************
