Get Up Clara -- kind of a ska remix. *shudder* Actually, I can see this working really, really well. It's what prompted this whole dance-remix idea in the first place. Fishing -- I can see this as a kind of pop-dance remix, with a slight techno influence, owing to that heavy bass percussive element in the "Courier" version. Spring -- this one's easy. Light, springy fiddle dance tune. My Love Will Follow You -- I see this working with a full trance/techno facelift. Imagine the melody (without the words), sped up to about doubletime, maybe a hair faster, and with a heavy bass drum pulse added. The eponymous lyric would occur during the cliche techno climax, accompanied by the amplified rapid-suspended-cymbal things. TV Light -- This might work as a slow, countryish dance number. Chris - -- "We were born in a dark age out of due time (for us). But there is this comfort: otherwise we should not know, or so much love, what we do love. In fact, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to sleep tonight. Would Gwen Stefani be singing the ska??? >>>TV Light -- This might work as a slow, countryish dance number.<<< .............Well, of course I agree here -- I said the same thing. I really can't imagine a "techno mix" to any RS, song but I believe the original challenge was to add a mix to make them danceable, plus I like your Tolkien sig line -- so I'm giving your choices 4 out of 5 arrowheads. (That's how we rate RS music...) *Ciao!* ....Carol ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 31 Mar 2009 15:55:27 +0300 From: Chris Foxwell Subject: Re: [RS] 5 Shindell dance tunes On Tue, Mar 31, 2009 at 3:26 PM, Carol Love wrote: > > >>>Dunno if these are my "top" five, but they are the ones that came to > > mind first. > > > > Get Up Clara -- kind of a ska remix. *shudder* <<< > > > .............I second that shudder. It's really too believable to contemplate for long. I should stop, because I really like Get Up Clara, it doesn't deserve this. > I'm giving your choices 4 out of 5 arrowheads. > (That's how we rate RS music...) > 4 out of 5 arrowheads, eh? Thanks! I seem to have lost one somewhere... ;) Chris - -- "We were born in a dark age out of due time (for us). But there is this comfort: otherwise we should not know, or so much love, what we do love.
