They were showcasing the artists who will be at the New Bedford Summerfest in July. Afterwards, the dj, Charlie Backfish mentioned RS's website where this plea was: "Money For Floods - Our friends in Cedar Rapids, Iowa need your help. Legion Arts/CSPS - one of my favorite places to play - has just come out from under 12 feet of water. John and Mel, who run the place, have established the Iowa Artist Relief Fund, destined for members of the local arts community, many of whom have lost everything - except their friends. The link is here. Please help them however you can. Thanks. RS" Then he played a cover of the song by a group named We're About 9. I don't think I've ever heard this version before, it was very interesting. I was pretty surprised to hear The Weather, a song usually not played anywhere! FYI, for folks in my neck of the woods (NY/LI): Richard will be playing at the IMAC in November, though tickets are a bit pricey (at least for me) at $45.
