He's making up for lost time by playing Just to add to Gerry's point, about the Shrewsbury Folk Festival. Richard is playing two sets on Sunday 26th August, one in the late afternoon in marquee 2 (1000 seats), and one in the evening in marquee 1 (2600 seats). In the evening he's playing immediately before Kate Rusby, who is then followed by Bellowhead....quite a night! PLUS he'll be involved in a 'meet the artist session'; an informal chat, perhaps a song or two in the early afternoon, we're still finalising the exact timings, but it's certainly going to be around 1pm(ish) on Sunday after his 1st soundcheck. I was going to make this a Fish Records invitation only meet, but the room is a decent size and we will be able to accommodate enough people, so everyone who would like to attend to be able to.....I'll pass on the full details as soon as they're finalised. We've sold out of Sunday tickets, and will sell out of full festival tickets before the start of the event, so if anyone wants to come and doesn't have a ticket then don't leave it too late as I think we'll sell out about a week before the festival. Full line up includes Richard, Crooked Still, Paul Brady, Wailin Jennys, Kate Rusby, Bellowhead, Show of Hands, Rod Picott, Jez Lowe, Steve Tilston (www.shrewsburyfolkfestival.co.uk, http://www.shrewsburyfolkfestival.blogspot.com/) best wishes Neil - ------------------------------------------------- Fish Records Suppliers of singer/songwriter, folk & acoustic music Shrewsbury, England neil@fishrecords.co.uk http://www.fishrecords.co.uk tel +44 (0) 1743 231546 fax +44 (0) 1743 354354 - ------------------------------------------------- > Just three weeks to go now to the Shrewsbury Folk > Festival which will host Richard's first UK appearance > in ten years. Well, it may not be the hottest day on record, and the forest may not be tinder dry, but the wildfire that's attacking western Montana today seems a little eerie, considering what happened 58 years ago today at the Mann Gulch. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20116576/ And for those of you who don't visit my chords site regularly, for the last few months I've been updating the home page each week with a photo that represents one of the songs on the site . . . sort of an unofficial "Song of the Week." This week's was sort of a no-brainer. www.ronsfolkchords.com RG ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone. And after our detailed discussion of this some time ago I rented the video and the book - FIre on the Mountain. Both good. > And for those of you who don't visit my chords site regularly, ....... And everytime I visit your site and see all the work you've done it makes me want to dig out my Gibson SJN which I haven't played in 4 decades. It would be like starting over tho, so I haven't. But what a find for active players of our kind of music! Carrie in KC ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V9 #135 ***********************************
