He's making up for lost time by playing eight gigs in eight days including four gigs in the London area. All four were sold out including the one I'm promoting in Twickenham...We HATE the idea of turning people away though so we've now arranged to switch to a different room in the same venue which more than doubles the capacity to over 200. So anyone who's previously tried to buy tickets and been disappointed please come back and try again...there's now loads more available at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/16649 Sunday September 2nd 8pm RICHARD SHINDELL (plus support from Jack Harris) TwickFolk Cabbage Patch Pub 67 London Road Twickenham Middlesex http://www.TwickenhamFolkClub.com http://www.MySpace.com/TwickFolk http://www.WeGotTickets.com/location/466 It's the last gig on English soil before he heads off to Paris...let's give him a good send-off! If any people fancy flying in from the US we're only about 5 miles from Heathrow! Gerry ps My understanding is that the hosts of the house concerts near Gatwick have been alerting people to expect very different sets at the two shows.... ____________________________________________________________________________________ Need a vacation? I believe one of the shows at the Mansion in Middletown is also sold out. That's the first non-festival venue I saw him at several years ago. It really is a mansion set on a beautiful college campus. Very intimate place where you bring a dessert to share. I only know a couple of songs by Jack Harris but that young man is really talented! I hope someday he tours in the US. I'd love to see him in concert. Janet - --- Gerry Evans wrote: > Just three weeks to go now to the Shrewsbury Folk > Festival which will host Richard's first UK > appearance > in ten years. Yeah, exactly. No censorship here, just a suggestion that attempts at in-depth discussions of songs that only a handful of people have heard thus far probably won't kindle much interest, that's all. Not bad form, not a "no-no"; just, it won't be entirely fruitful. Makes sense to me. Although, I also agree with whoever said that that shouldn't deter discussion attempts; just like other arcane matters discussed on the list, those who have something to contribute can, and those who don't, won't. Pretty simple, just like it should be. I forgot to mention that Richard and Lucy did some really nice harmony sets on the Workshop Stage. I always love when they do "Love Hurts"; it usually inspires me to break out the "Duets" disk by Emmylou Harris and give that another listen. Richard and Lucy aren't quite Emmylou and Gram Parsons, but they always do a damn good job. - --Chris "We were born in a dark age out of due time (for us).
