The CD is a wedding favor. AYHN is about a break-up. Summer Wind Cotton Dress is about infidelity. Courier is about men at war. No one suggested Leonard Cohen?! TV Light is THE song. Perfect for long term fidelity, which is really the goal here. "There ain't a romance on the silver screen, can hold a candle Darling, to you and me." And, as I've said here before, I DO like TV Light. Wisteria also gets a vote, love that one even though it drips with sentiment. Tanglewood Tree, definitely. As for Dar "Pagans and Christians" is about extended family so it sort of works, and it's a good one. And how 'bout 10 Yeqr Night from LucyKa? Happy Wedding Janet! But it doesn't necessarily have to be an appropriate love song does it?. I wonder what other cuts are already slated to appear on the cd. Maybe those might be an indicator of what other stuff to include. Janet sez My daughter is making a cd of her and her finance's - -favorite songs- to give out at their wedding. She asked me what one song of Richard's should she use since she didn't have one favorite song. carrie in kc ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Jul 2007 10:29:31 -0700 From: Sandy Smith Subject: Re: [RS] Wedding Planners On Jul 3, 2007, at 6:55 AM, kunigunda wrote: >> Come on Wedding Planners! When we were preparing for our wedding, our string/flute quartet gave us list of songs they perform. One of them was the theme song from MASH (entitled "Suicide is Painless")! I second whoever suggestion "Cancion Sencilla." I think that's an excellent choice. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Jul 2007 12:25:03 -0700 (PDT) From: Janet Cinelli Subject: [RS] Thank you, thank you! First of all, I want to thank everyone who has responded to my question. I really enjoyed reading all the responses, especially about SWCD, a song whose guitar work I love but whose lyrics bother me. This is supposed to be a "favorite" cd of songs, not songs appropriate for a wedding and yeah I was going to suggest a Leonard Cohen song (Waiting for the Miracle) but my daughter doesn't know his work. Here are the choices she's made. Richard=Willin. Dar=Echoes. She's not sure about putting Dave & Tracy on but said if there's room, she'll put Seven is the Number. She wants to use Ten Year Night, a song I initially suggested she didn't but then said what the hell, it's a great song so why not! She decided to go with covers for RS and Dar because those are songs she likes, though it was almost going to be Arrowhead cause she loves the way he sings, "Mama!" Heh, heh! If I ever get the whole list of songs, I'll pass them on to you guys. I'm betting Peter Gabriel is going to be on it as her fianci is a big fan of his.
