It was a great show and it was wonderful to see Richard again. Richard is usually more talkative than he was last night - I just figured that since this was the start of a new tour with other musicians, he was trying to focus more on the music. I agree with Amy that the addition of Sara and Greg fit perfectly. Their contributions were never obtrusive and made the songs sound "full." I usually enjoy piano accompaniament on some (definitely not all) of Richard's songs, but after last night, forget the piano (sorry Rad) - Richard should have a fiddle player with him all the time! Unfortunately, Richard did not allow anyone to record the show, so I have to go by memory. My memory came up with the same set list as Amy posted, though. Can you tell me a little more about Richard's "band"? >Greg Anderson is Greg Anderson, and he was as solid as you'd >expect. The real surprise (for me, anyway) was Sara Milonovich. Hmmm.... Ok...I'm dumb. I guess I should know who these people are - but I don't. The name Sara Milonovich does seem very familiar. What do they play? ( Do they play? ) Sounds like they both sing. How did Richard hook up with them? Will they be on the whole tour? It's OK if you don't know the answers to all of the above. ( Also - by the way - very impressive email address at bottom of your post - U. Mich Law School ). Bet they keep you busy - glad you got away to see Richard. bye.... Sara plays the fiddle and Greg plays guitar. I saw them at the New Bedford Folk Fest last year. She plays mostly Celtic fiddle tunes (from the small sampling I heard) but she does sing too - she has covered "Reunion Hill" in the past. My first impression was that they were so-so but when I saw her as part of the celtic finale I was much more impressed. I am sure she would be a great backup fiddle player to Richard. And I agree about the fiddle - I absolutely love the instrument (then again I am more into Celtic music these days than anything singer-singwriter with the exception of Richard and a few others of course) and would love to hear Richard play live with one. I think Greg Anderson produced a few of the early Shindell CD's but I could be wrong about that! Bobdog25nj@aol.com wrote: Thank you Amy for your nice review of the Ann Arbor show.
