Mark Erelli's new one is a good one too. Also, an old friend of Richard's came out with a new cd recently. Russ Rentler's "Scarecrow's Lament" is a good one. I was thinking of getting Kris Delmhorst's new one but I think I'll treat myself to the new Springsteen one as a birthday present to myself. A head's up, Springsteen is going to be on Jay Leno tonight too! As for a version of Plane Wreck at Los Gatos (Deportees), I don't know if Jimmy LaFave ever recorded it but I've heard him do an awesome version of it in concert a few years ago. Janet Tired of spam? Ron, I've been listening to Hayward Williams (http://www.haywardwilliams.com/) quite a bit lately. Both his EP and his full length CD are excellent. Give that a try to ease your anticipation pangs. Great young singer songwriter. On the slightly rowdier side, Cory Branan's (http://www.corybranan.com) new one is pretty good (can't stop listening to " The Prettiest Waitress In Memphis ") Anyway, I am suffering with you as I await RS's covers CD (along with the arrival of Richard Thompson's first volume of tablature, both held up by RT himself, I hear). This newest album is a step up for him from 3 prior albums which are also great and grow on you. He tends not to have the musical sophistication of a Shindell, but the words are extraordinary and the melodies catching. Also, kudos to his wife Amy Berkson on harmonies that are truly breathtaking. I swear, it's "other" name could be Jimmy Fest.
