Richard mentioned that the words came to him on a flight from Argentina to the US and at the time he had a certain Beatles song in his head. He didn't write down the words and when he landed, he had forgotten some of the words. So, to re-remember them, he kept singing that Beatles song until he got them back. (Or something to that effect - it has been a long time) Anyway, I never have been able to figure out what Beatles that the music of "Abuelita" is so similar to. Any guesses? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Nov 2005 09:31:05 -0600 From: "kunigunda" Subject: [RS] RS new CD Now that we know some of the songs that will be on the new CD.....and after all of the wonderful suggestions we listers made.....does anyone know or has anyone heard what the title of it will be? Has Richard mentioned it at all? Any guesses? The last line of each verse sounds a bit like "still your abuelita" "La la la la la la" Just a bit. Any guesses?> I may be off in left field here but I always thought of "Till There Was You" when I heard "Abuelita". Janet __________________________________ Yahoo! While there were more than a few obvious mistakes (one painful one on Wisteria!), I thought Richard sounded great and seemed very relaxed, and fairly chatty. It was my first time at the Sellersville theater-what a neat place, very intimate. The covers sound great and I can't wait to see what others make it onto the CD. His version of Peter Gabriel's Mercy Street was beautiful, and Northbound 35 gave me chills. I was sorry to hear that Mavis has flown to that big bird cage in the sky. The set list was well rounded out, including "Lazy," which he more or less said was made for the classical guitar. It sounded very good. We were sitting directly behind Richard's family, I think his parents were "introducing" friends to Richard's music for the first time. I overheard (OK so I was eavesdropping) Richard's dad say that he had to ask Richard's permission to take pictures during the show! I believe Richard's wife was there and maybe his brother too. Can't wait until the next tour! Toby ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V7 #286 ***********************************
