First time to see her live for me. Of course she looked like she'd just gotten out of bed...wearing flipflops, navy sweatpants with a white stripe down the side and a lumpy looking gray t-shirt. She was soooo funny, the whole place was roaring - all evening. She got to digressing in her story telling and didn't play for at least 15 minutes at one point, and no one cared. I suppose she does the same bit every show but she certainly came off as a very spontaneous, polished, entertaining performer.... including singer-songwriter of course. It was a very enjoyable evening. If you haven't seen her and get the opportunity I recommend you go, even if she may not be a favorite of yours. Richard content would be that when they announced performers for the next concert series, Richard's name didn't come up....sob.....although I was thrilled to hear names Kris Delmhorst and Lucy. I cling to the hope that maybe Richard will show up in Kansas City if not Lawrence.... soon. He forgot the words to one of his songs and had to stop playing. He spoke about opening for Richard back in August and how Richard had flubbed some lines himself. James said something to the effect that if a great singer like Richard can forget words then maybe it's not so bad if he did too<<< Janet, we were there also, and believe me, it was a relief that another RS fan was there--I thought we were the lyrics hex!! Jamie and I braved the rains and it was well worth it. John McD. ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V7 #244 ***********************************
