I don't know how or why; I didn't listen to a scrap of folk music during the vacation, and at no point did I make a conscious connection between the trip and the song. For some reason, as I settled down in my plane seat, I found that the chords were running through my head, and had been doing so for a while without me realizing it. So I put the song on, and man, it jived so perfectly with what I was feeling. (As discussed some time ago, I interpret the song as a commentary on the concepts of "vacation" and "escape" rather than dealing with socio-economic issues, as others see it.) Just thought I'd share with y'all. By the way, if you have friends looking for a location to hold their wedding, I highly recommend Maui. :) It's the perfect excuse to get out there. --Chris - -- "We were born in a dark age out of due time (for us).
