Some of my favorites of hers are Long Ride Home Nobody's Cryin' Kite Rain And just in case he feels like playing his new found instrument (piano) how about Jimmy Webb's Highwayman? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Sep 2005 12:37:15 -0400 From: Chris Foxwell Subject: Re: [RS] RE: Coverage Counsel Hmm...what about Al Stewart's "Roads to Moscow"? That's right up Richard's alley: a lyrics-heavy, tension-laden narrative, somber and grim. I can't imagine anyone but Al sing it, but that's kinda the point, right? --Chris - -- "We were born in a dark age out of due time (for us). In fact while we're at it, how about LIVE covers only? 3 Dar Williams February, one of my favorites, it would be interesting to hear in a baritone. Don't have enough imagination to think about songs I DON'T like being re-interpreted so I would like them. In fact I don't think it's possible, if it was a dreadful song to begin with it won't be saved through reinterpretation! I can think of a few right now! One more (again one of my favorites) this time an artist who sings in FRENCH, we know Richard lived in Paris for a while! this is another favorite (I feel like a proselytizer) one Gilles Servat whose last but one has a cover of Lake at Ponchartrain :( in French. HE has a deeper voice, bass I suppose, with a richness that reminds me of Richard's voice.
