Brian came out first, a local talent having grown up in Ridgefield the next town. What a surprise, he could sing and write as well the most marvelous stories. It was a start filled night with David Canary of All My Children doing the MCing as well as the music director of AMC doing some announcing. The audience had quite a few celebrities in it as well. It sure looked like the Fonz sitting next to us at center stage. The location was perfect. A little city park with a swimming hole. Out in the country without even mosquito's to annoy us. Everyone who came brought chairs or a blanket to lie upon. Many had picnic dinners as well. Shades of our trips to Tanglewood (Boston Symphony summer home). The only thing missing was a bake sale for those who didnt' bring food. Richard was accompanied by Lincoln on electric base who seemed to be enjoying himself to something only he knew about. Richard was great. Lots of oldies like Reunion Hill, Courier, Fishing, and The Ballad of Mary Magdalen. Along with new ones from Vuelta like Waste Deep in the Big Muddy and Simple Song. It was the best concert of Richard's I have heard in the last 10 years. Close would be the one he did in NY State in a small private school south of Woodstock. We really did get lucky this month. We got to see Tracy Grammar in a little folk club last weekend as well. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 Aug 2005 19:29:21 +0000 From: keny7744@comcast.net Subject: Re: [RS] Richard in Wilton Is it possible that the opener you're referring to is really named Kevin Briody? Did he do a couple songs entitled "Walnuts & Rice" and "While No One's Watching?" I've seen him perform and he indeed is a very talented songwriter.
