I was pleasantly surprised to hear a track on the radio from 'Rooftops', a solo album by Larry which obviously sneaked out recently. It appears to be just a guitar instrumental album with no multi instrument over-dubs...sounds like it could include quite a few re-arranged fiddle tunes. He seems to have recently finished working in Dylan's touring band so that should hopefully mean he'll have more time to work more regularly with other people again...if you know what I mean. There's even a Larry Carlton yahoo group started (though it seems to be largely made up of folks who think all he's ever done is back Dylan) Tired of spam? Yahoo! Did you notice he played Lazy? I think that is the one he always introduces as having the Bassanova (sorry, sp.) chords he learned from his wife's argentinian friends when in Paris. I wonder if he introduced it that way, in Spanish!
