Ever since I got my new Mac, I have bought a lot of great music from them. Their folk library is pretty extensive and you can buy tracks for 99 cents. Also, if there are any Pepsi/Mountain Dew drinkers out there, they have free song giveaways going on if you buy the bottles. iTunes is great for those artists that write good songs but don't neccessarily put together great albums....you can buy what you want. Gene Frey wrote: So, for 99 cents each, you can get lots of great stuff, including Richard's cover of 'Shades of Black, Shades of Blue,' Dave and Tracy's 'You Must Slumber,' Mark Erelli's cover of 'Cryin,' plus tracks from Lori McKenna, Kris Delmhorst, Josh Ritter, Peter Mulvey and others. If you are an iTunes user, just go to the Music Store and put 'Signature Sounds' in the search box. Enjoy! Yahoo! Some performers of note include: Dar Williams Ani DiFranco Hot Tuna Eddie from Ohio Eliza Gilkyson Tracy Grammer Chris Smither Vance Gilbert Susan Werner Jimmy LaFave Nields Glengarry Bhoys Redbird The Kennedys Yahoo! Same goes for Ellis Paul, in case anyone was wondering-- he was at Schubas on Saturday. We also discussed his latest foray into technology, an ipod shuffle, and what music he has been listening to while driving around from show to show. During the show, he mentioned it and encouraged anyone interested to , this is what he rattled off.... Petra Haden and Bill Frisell, Elliot Smith (RS has 4-5 CDs loaded up), Iron & Wine (Creek Drank the Cradle).... Kinda spooky that he and I are both listening to similar stuff, but I secretly suspect that RS has a much wider taste in music! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Mar 2005 12:52:54 -0800 (PST) From: adam plunkett Subject: Re: [RS] Falcon Ridge I am completely in love with my ipod shuffle. 150 songs or so played at random and the thing is smaller than your hand! Richard, of course, has many spots in that 150 reserved in my shuffle. On a more folk level, he is on Kelly Joe Phelps' last studio album also. - --- Vanessa Wills wrote: > I love Bill Frisell.
