Hope everyone isn't in the dumps over the Vuelta review that was posted! Re Listening.... From other's lists I found 2 (new artists to me) available at the library: Thank you, listers! Willy Porter - High Wire Live - I like him! Good find. Garnet Rogers - All That Is - more traditional slant - Good too. Then I saw someone had listed John Stewart. I've been on the list at the library for Gold for about a year now (I have it on vinyl). I think it's a lost cause. Anyway, they had another one- Wires From the Bunker. It's typical John Stewart, and if you like him you'll probably like this one. I need to listen again to decide. My searches also brought up several compilations which I'll be listening to this week: 1. Songbirds - 2cds billed as purest songs from finest female singer/songwriters of our time. 2. Follow that Road - 2 cds Highlights of 2nd annual Martha's Vinyard Singer/Songwriters retreat. 3. Live at the Iron Horse - Vol 1 4. The Singer Songwriter Collection - Rounder/Heritage records 2002 Richard isn't on any of these but there are some unfamiliar artists whose music I am anxious to hear. I was there and was able to pick up a copy of the new album! Richard was great, although due to the down pour, wasn't able to see the Friday night song swap. I'm wondering if anyone did and what did Richard sing? He sang "Fenario" twice, once at the workshop stage and main stage. He sang "So Says the Whipporwil" and I finally understood why he dedicated the last verse to Dave Carter. It hit me and I couldn't help it, I cried. Tracy Grammer, Dave's partner, came out with an EP called the Verdant Mile. The song mentions Richard's song about Dave! The only song I didn't recognize on the cd was "Che Gevara T shirt", he sang it so much slower than when he sings it live. But this is a fantastic album, I am kicking myself for only buying one! He also sang "America" which I couldn't believe because I love his version and was hoping it would be on the new cd! Or maybe a bonus/hidden track! Oh well. Richard didn't seem accessible this time around. My husband has a guitar he's been getting his favorite singers to sign but couldn't get Richard! Oh well, maybe next time. I had a great time in spite of the rain and heat! Janet __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
