Leo Kottke also has a recorded version. I find the Keen studio version to be preferable to the live one. I'd say in order of preference, for my tastes, of readily-available recorded versions from favorite to least, are: 1. Richard's 2. Tom Russell's (although curse him for lobbing off the opening!) 3. REK studio 4. Michael martin Murphy 5. Leo Kottke 6. REK live (now if it had been on his first live record... that might have been cool!) (I have to add though, one of my favorite versions was the one I heard performed in California by a fellow lister from Long island, whom I shan't embarrass by naming!) Perhaps this would be a swell chance for Scott to plug the reprint of Sonora Sessions if there are some left? Because his wife is Argentinian and was offered a really great opportunity as a professor at a university there. RS said he could run his career from anywhere, but his wife needed to be in Argentina to be a college professor there. At least that what he said when he discussed it at a show I attended. There are some people on this page who get to claim President Bush as one of their own. You might be interested to know that Richard told me that he actually voted for Bush. As for the tour dates, a whole half of Richard's own homeland don't get to see him in a theater near them any time soon either. Personally, I've given up on Richard ever crossing this particular ocean again. For a moment I was hopeful, given that - Ron, skip this part - Joan Baez tours here in the summer and I was thinking opening act... but, oh well... A shame though, I'm sure he could really create quite a following here if he wanted. I, personally, have given up on seeing him anywhere west of the Mississippi ever again. That might be so but The UK isn't exactly that big is it. Without getting the map out it would be a probable safe bet to assume that the UK would fit in any one of your states. If Richard did say a small tour of 10 to 15 dates the majority of the country would be within probably 50 miles of a venue so I don't think that your reason, as worthy and correct as it is, is a valid one in the context of a UK tour.
