On the drive in to work this morning I heard a promo on WFUV (Fordham University, NYC) mention Richard Shindell among the "new music" artists being played today. Every Monday WFUV (www.wfuv.org) plays music from new and upcoming albums, so perhaps they have a track or two from the upcoming CD? Every time I do I get in trouble! It's a song from Reunion Hill that my husband Gene and I like alot. We used to request it every time we saw Richard, but it's become pretty obvious he's never going to play it. It's become a long-running joke among us old timers on the list. Isabel - ----- Well, no more waiting for the storm, the weather is improving, as it should by now, money for floods is spent. Smiling spring is somewhere near Paterson, wisteria soon to bloom in May. On the 4th of July, Asbury Park, Summer wind, a cotton dress still on a hanger, waiting for Nora and confession. My love will follow you if you're willin'. Time to take the Kenworth of my dreams on the Merritt Parkway 2 am in the darkness darkness beyond the iron gate, transit all the way to easy street, the north woods, no radar gun in sight, haul the frozen food to Maine, (I drank all the bourbon that was slated for Buffalo), go fishing at Sparrows Point, hear the wolves howling at the trouble or just calling the moon... Pull into the next Best Western, look for the ballad of Mary Magdalen in Gideon's and rest my eyes in the TV light. I'll be here in the morning. Make no ascent of reunion hill to my Abuelita just yet. Castaway my arrowhead and the grocer's broom where I saw my youth today. Be lazy, hum a tune for nowhere. You stay here, don't cross the blue divide or set sail on a sea of Fluer-de-Lis. Await the courier. Remember the things that I have seen, and keep the memory of you 'till I see you again. - --- Look what you started Isabel, Are you happy now? :) Though it may appear so, I really don't have too much time on my hands. Thank goodness the new album isn't out yet. :( Bart ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V6 #28 **********************************
