Hey you guys, WUMB in Boston has released their annual 'Top 100 Artists' list, and our man Richard has jumped from #5 to #3, a lofty position indeed. Cheryl Wheeler and Dar Williams hold the 1 and 2 spots, respectively. Richard was ranked at #6 in 2001, and, as noted, #5 last year. Richard has always been a favorite of the WUMB staff and listeners, and he visited there some months back for a lengthy interview and performance of some new songs. If you're not familiar with WUMB, they tend more toward traditional folk and singer-songwriter music than the AAA sounds many 'city folk' stations have turned toward. They do stream their programming at www.wumb.org, or through Live365. Definitely worth a listen. I will try out their streaming content right away! Many people have heard of WXPN here in Philly. (World Cafe and all the rest.) I feel very fortunate indeed to have such a great station in my backyard. Unfortunately however, a person can count songs by RS, Cheryl Wheeler, Lucy, et al on the fingers of one hand..... I may have to move to Boston!!! ;) Ron A ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V5 #261 ***********************************
