This scared even me. Donna =============================================================== Apparently the owners of the house pictured at this site had been seeing images and hearing voices for a while. They did some research and found that a lady once lived in the house who lost her husband during the Civil War. Legend says that she used to sit at the table and look across the fields in anticipation of her loved one returning home. He never came. So, they say, she still waits. They caught this photo of what they claim to be her. This is wild and a little spooky once you find the ghost in the picture. It takes a few seconds to find it, but when you do, it just stands out. Concentrate around the table. Best not to focus too hard on one spot. Look around the table and toward the window. Best to enlarge to a full screen view. It's faint, but the low murmur you hear was what got the photographer's attention first. http://www.wardell.org/jotd/media/whatswrong.swf ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Oct 2003 13:41:59 -0500 (EST) From: Vanessa C Wills Subject: Re: [RS] OT Boo!...and Happy Halloween I don't think I've ever been so scared in my entire life. Generally, in Cancion Sencilla, he talks to his love about being sorry for having taken so long to learn her language, and that this "simple song" is his attempt at making up for it. There are a lot of "I love yous" a la Paul McCartney and I think the chuckles were because Richard bemoans the oh so many verbs available in everyday Spanish, one or two of which he conjugates, and he refers to the difficulty of the subjunctive tense. This was my first listen to the song and I loved it. I think someone on the list commented that Richard had said something about being able to get away with more mushy stuff in Spanish. It's true! Sorry to be so vague... I'd love to see the lyrics too-- I'd be able to do a better job of explaining. OK, so let's see where we are on the line-up for the new record . . . Fenario Che Guevara T-Shirt Gray Green Cancion Sencilla The Last Fare of the Day There Goes Mavis So Says the Whippoorwill Before I Go The Island And no doubt a few others. Don't know about "Hideous Grin" or "Farewell to St. Dolores." "I Am" almost certainly will NOT to be on the record. By the way, I heard from a pretty reliable source (since I reckon Richard himself can be considered a reliable source), that the recording sessions are going extremely well, and that he feels that there's no question that this will be his finest work. With songs like these, I can certainly understand why he'd feel that way. He did say, however, that the original plan for an early February release might get pushed back a bit. And one more thing: his new Lowden guitar is sa-WEEEET. When he eventually and invariably winds up selling it on the list, I'm telling you right now, I've got dibs on that one. ;-) RG ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Oct 2003 14:51:34 -0500 From: Rongrittz@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] New CD/Odds & Ends.
