I have never been to the Fez but the Towne Crier in Pawling NY has a similar policy, a venue I believe Richard is playing soon. The first show I saw there - a double bill of Canadian Garnet Rogers and Native American Bill Miller - was great as I was eating dinner there. The second time I went there - to see Kelly Joe Phelps - it was a different story. The shows there start at 9 and I had already eaten and when we told them that, they made us sit in the back in worst seats! They didnt say you had to eat there but if you dont you get crappy seats which is an awful policy considering the price of the tickets. On another note, I know there are many Dave Carter fans here so you may like to know that Ellis Paul and Vance Gilbert have released an album of mostly covers and they do a dave Carter song on it. - - Adam - --- Gary Martin wrote: > > Date: Mon, 15 Sep 2003 10:07:02 EDT > > From: Patience9@aol.com > > Subject: [RS] required drinks? > > > > That would get them a law suit if i had to have > two drinks...i would be drunk > > enough to kill someone on my drive home...lol > > > >> and they have no "two-drink minimum" like some > venues (like Fez in NYC) > >> often do. > > I would very much doubt that the policy requires the > drinks to be alcoholic > drinks or that it requires you to actually consume them. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I would encourage everyone to come up to Boston to check out the folk festival this coming weekend. (Assuming that Hurricane Isabel doesn't wreak havoc on the occasion, which looks possible at this point.) Richard is playing on Sunday, from noon to 1:00 according to the tentative concert schedule, and there are plenty of other great artists playing, with Emmylou Harris headlining. If you're interested, make sure to get tickets asap from the local folk radio station. It's different, slower and has a sort of island sound to it. I liked it. Most dinner clubs are like that. There is a place at the Jersey shore, the Old Mill Inn that has one of my favorite bands, Poco, every year. Tickets are $75 - $90 each, which includes dinner. I like Poco a LOT, but not that much! Joe The first show I saw there - a double bill of Canadian Garnet Rogers and Native American Bill Miller - was great as I was eating dinner there. Jim Henry, who looks like a young John Prine, was with her and sung GAoE. He managed to learn about a dozen Dave Carter songs in 4 days... quite amazing. Tracy said that she hopes to record the unrecorded Dave songs in December but that there may be legal matters that have to be resolved first.
