Mahaffey" Subject: [RS] Boston Hello all, I see Richard is on the schedule for Boston Folk Festival in September, just in time for my move to the area! Pardon the rest of this fairly off-topic post, but I need assistance. I've just been accepted to Emerson College's graduate program in Publishing & Writing, and will be moving to Boston in August or September (just in time for the Boston Folk Festival). Trouble is, I'm now living in North Carolina and can't get up to New England in advance of the move, so I'm having no luck finding a place to rent. If any member of this wonderful community knows the area, or has a garage apartment opening up, or knows people who knows people, or is otherwise inclined to help, I would appreciate any leads. Please e-mail me DIRECTLY, musemaker@oddpost.com. See y'all at Boston Folk Festival one way or another. I thought Richard was in great form. He was much more talkative than usual. He also stood during both sets. The last time I saw him at the Freight he sat down for his enire performamnce. There seemed to be a problem with the sound on Richards vocals from time to time but the sound kicks in from above at the Freight and we we in the first row & therefore in front of some of the sound system. A highlight was Richard playing the autobiographical & biograhical (for me) "Castaway". He responed to my request & several others much more than previous shows that we've attended in Berkeley. I did not keep a set list but it was different than the set posted for the 5/19 show so those that were at both shows were very fortunate. SET I Summer Wind, Cotton Dress The Island Fenario Che Guevera T-Shirt Grey Green Mary Magdalene Love, Before You Go Next Best Western SET II Beyond the Iron Gate Arrowhead Waiting for the Storm Fishing Tune for Nowhere Are You Happy Now? Castaway Cold Missouri Waters Darkness, Darkness Transit ENCORE: Reunion Hill Okay maybe a few comments...I love the new songs, especially Fenario and Last Fare of the Day. It was a real treat to hear Sparrow's Point on Monday. Loved hearing Tune For Nowhere last night and Cold Missouri Waters on both nights. I usually only see an artist once when he or she is passing through the Bay Area, but I usually will see Richard twice. Looking forward to seeing him at Falcon Ridge this year Peter ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V5 #118 ***********************************
