I'm probably not the best yardstick! jim ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Mar 2003 09:24:55 -0500 From: "Chris Pressley" Subject: [RS] Recs. and Tabs Hi All, First, thanks to those who recommended Courier. I'm enjoying it immensely and hope to be fully prepared to see Richard and Tracy on the 30th at the Birchmere. Second, I first heard of Richard after seeing a live cover performance of Wisteria (by a local artist). I'm also learning guitar and would really like to learn Wisteria. Could anyone point me to tabs of Richard's music, and specifically Wisteria? I've found the Chords, but that doesn't include the picking patterns, etc. Thanks! Maybe that wasn't very clear. I think that, up close, I expected him to be a little taller, but he must be around 5' 9" or so. I'd have him play out front on the basketball squad. Maybe 'pudgey' isn't the right word. Lets just say he looks like he's eating well. > AND when exactly did he lose the beard? Not sure when he lost the beard but I think someone mentioned a while back that he was clean shaven on this recent tour. A couple other notes on the Pittsburgh show. I think they said that this was the last show of a two week tour. He also thanked George W. Bush for being the one man who brought Richard and his father together in agreement after a lifetime of being on the opposite sides of issues. Richard said that his father agreed that Bush was an idiot. It seemed a bit wierd to have a Tracy and Dave video playing after the show. I talked with a friend at the show and he said the Club Cafe had an elaborate production studio on the second floor of the club. Supposedly they were gearing up in a big way for doing internet concert broadcasts before the internet bubble burst a few years back. Hard to think there would be that much of a market for the types of artists that perform at Club Cafe, but those were some heady times at the turn of the century. All in all, it was a nice night of acoustic music.
