Drake is listing Richard in their ads in Performing Songwriter magazine for a couple issues now. (And yeah, Charlie and Kerry and Michaela did spoil us... but it sure was cool while it lasted. Good people, y'know?) Jim ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 12:49:48 -0500 From: Jim Colbert Subject: [RS] management etc Okay, would anyone like to elaborate? The Fleming and Associates web sites lists Richard under their roster, and has the most recent concert listings. Now, most long-term folk fans know they used to be Fleming Tamulevich, but that David Tamulevich (aka the guy from mustard's retreat) has been working with Tim Drake as Drake & Associates. They (Drake) have had print ads in Performing Songwriter magazine in the fall listing Richard as part of their roster. (He is not listed on their web site.) Anyone know the scoop here? Ye official types are welcome to chime in... jim colbert now listening to mark erelli ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 10:22:24 -0800 (PST) From: adam plunkett Subject: Re: [RS] yeah, me too... So, this is my own information, which is totally on reading websites: There was a booking agent named Flemtam. They were run by a guy named Fleming and and Tamulvich. They had 20 or so clients. (Dan Bern, Kelly Joe Phelps, Garnet Rogers, Greg Brown, Ani DiFranco, Susan Werner, Paperboys,Ellis Paul, Lucy Kaplansky, Cheryl Wheeler, etc) They split up and Flemtam has become Fleming artists. And Tamelvich seems to have joined a guy anmed Drake to make Draketam. I thought Richard Shibndell was on Draketam but he is listed on Fleming's website, not on Draketam. http://www.flemingartists.com http://www.draketam.com - -Adam - --- Jim Colbert wrote: > > along with those questions - I have been wondering > (and I really mean this > > in a completely non-complaining, just > kind-of-curious way with a smile on my > > face): will we hear from Richard's new management > here? No doubt the ad deadline came months before Richard left for Fleming. The guy named Drake was booking people like Janis Ian, Richie Havens, Leon Redbone, Guy Davis, The Saw Doctors, Vance Gilbert and like that. In addition to Richard. (He had previously booked people like Cosy Sheridan, The Burns Sisters, David Massengill, The Kennedys, Lynn Miles and like those!) So the trade was Richard Shindell for Ellis Paul, Greg Brown and John Gorka. One of those three for one deals that the major leagues are always doing. So Richard joins Lucy at FlemArts and the three guys join the above mentioned at DrakeTam and everybody lives happily ever after.
