I got there with some friends around 5:50, and got a nice spot near the stage. Along with the songs Candy already noted, Richard also played Reunion ill, Transit, and a brand-spanking new one called "THe Island." He had just finished it (sorta) around 2pm yesterday. THe chorus was "I went to the island on a package deal/ everything prearranged/ three nights in the grand hotel/ where every room has an ocean view." The song is GORGEOUS. A long, meditative, wistful sort of song. I guiltily admit that I didn't catch much of the story--I was too caught up in the beauty of it. I asked Richard about it and he said he'll most likely rewrite the four verses before the last verse, but he seemed more or less happy with the song, generally. I hope he doesn't change it too much, because I am absolutely in love with the song. This is the first time I've ever been in the audience to see Richard debut a new song! Wooooo. Richard also mentioned he may be shaving the beard off. I really liked Lucy's set, and I don't consider myself a huge Lucika fan generally. But all her new stuff was brilliant, and I thought her 9-11 song was the best I've heard on the subject. - --V - -- Lex: You wanna tell me what happened last night? Clark: It was just a stupid prank. Lex: You were tied to a stake in the middle of a field. Even the Romans saved that for special occasions. --Smallville, ep. 102, "Metamorphosis" On Sun, 7 Jul 2002, Candy Funston wrote: > It was a very good turn out tonight.
