Artist management is so very, very much about the *business* of music. But Charlie (AND Carol AND Kerry) have demonstrated *consistently* that it's not ONLY about the business; that those of us who enjoy the music of Richard, Dar, Chris Smither, Peter Mulvey and (now) Jeffrey Foucault are more than mere numbers on an accountant's ledger; that he is just as much of a fan of the music as we are. It's been quite nice to have a managerial ear actually tuned in to the fan's input. (You've possibly spoiled us in that regard!) We wish you only the best in your future endeavors. And that being said, would anyone on the list be interested in making a collected list contribution to the trust for Lee Wessman's children? I think it would be a nice gesture. I'll be sending something regardless, but it might be nice if we pooled it. Lee, incidentally, along with Mr. Hunter himself, were both instrumental (no pun intended) in giving me encouragement and advice on playing in public clear back in the late fall when I had just started and was offered the chance to open for David Olney and was, well, completely overwhelmed! We might not agree on everything here, but you gotta admit- there's some damn good people in the acoustic music community.
