I reckon you are right re: Richard/Al, but at the concert I saw, he really did look Al-ish. Could've been a trick of the light, or my middle-aged eye sight. There was no mention of the show in either of the two major weekly papers nor in the student newspaper at the University. Too bad, Richard could have sold out the Kuumbwa if there had been a little more publicity IMHO. It's a nice little venue with only 200 seats. Naturally, as Richard's publicist, this kind of news socks me right in the gut. I sent his CD/press kit to all papers in the area, Richard did two radio interviews (the day of and two days before the show), and the SF Chronicle listed the show at the end of their article. It just didn't make sense that nothing had run. Tracye's take on this was that there were a zillion other things going on in town that day, including many free Cinco de Mayo events. Richard did get listed or 'picked' in several papers - including a Best Bet pick that day in the Sentinel. Tracye also reported that Patty Larkin had articles in all the papers and sold exactly the same number of tickets Richard sold. Tracye then told me that it was a terrific show and the people there seemed to enjoy it very much. Thanks to everyone who made it to that show and the others on this tour. Speaking of which... the McCabe's show on Friday is SOLD OUT, as is the 5/31 Tarrytown show with Lucy.
